Colin Lavery - Media Studies
What do I want in the future? I originally wanted to do something in mathematics as I generally excelled in the subject. However, I eventually chose to do something the media so that I could be creative in my work.

There three things I would like to do. I'd be happy to be in advertising such as an ideas generator for TV commercials. Video Editing seems like a good prospect as I found it simple and enjoyable.
Also a personal hobby of mine is Photography and I am always trying to edit together little montages like those on this page.
After I finish my second year, I will not be going to uni. This is partly because of the fees that come with it. Also, I find learning practically; doing what it is I want to do, more effective than sitting in a classroom. Instead I have decided to take a gap year to build up a decent portfolio as well as get work experience and some extra cash for the future. After that I'd like to get a good full-time job involving any of the above three, work my way up in the business.
I feel that I can be very creative and can present my ideas well. I believe one of my strongest points is that I am efficient and reliable. All my employers, past and present, have commented on this. Therefore, I do my best to be the person you can rely on. I have a fair understanding of simple photo and video editing packages such as Adobe Photoshop and Premiere. I use these when creating my images. Most of my practical skills come from employment. These include, social skills, customer service, persuasion, management, and many others which have given me insight into how the world works.
