Kim Donohoe - Media Studies
My name is Kimberley Donohoe but my friends call me Kim. I am currently studying a BTEC National Diploma in Media. I'm a very all rounded and active person. I'm well known for my humorous and spontaneous personality. I enjoy the company of my friends and family. I like to go to the cinema and could shop till I drop. I also enjoy watching my younger brother's football games on a Sunday afternoon. I am a big Chelsea fan as my family all support them.
When I first began studying media I had an interest in Journalism, I still to this day enjoy writing but I have discovered that there are other options I could take into account, which I may be better at and are more suited to me. My friends have always told me I'm a very good listener and offer good advice. This made me realise that I actually enjoy listening and advising people, as I enjoy the satisfaction of knowing that I have helped others. This made me re-think career options, because of this I have begun to look at psychology. More to my interest is child psychology, as to understand and help children through hard times in their life would be something I would greatly enjoy being part of.
Going to university would be a great opportunity and would be something I'd love to do, but maybe university isn't for everyone. I see university as a place for people who know what they really want to do in life but as for me I don't see myself at the age of seventeen knowing exactly what I want to do. I've always been indecisive and can defiantly say I can see myself changing my mind a few years down the line.
If university is something I don't do next year then I would consider becoming a PCSO (police community service officer). This is not something I have always wanted to do but someone mentioned it to me and I thought it was a fantastic idea and could see myself enjoying the public interaction and I think I could be very good at it.
