Tracey Mardell - Media Studies
My name is Tracey Mardell, I am very ambitious, and have a variety of skills and talents. At North West Kent College I am studying a BTEC National Diploma in Media Studies. The course is 2 years and I am now in my second year.
For part time work outside of the college I work in a hairdresser's called Fig At Beyond The Fringe, where recently I have started my training to be a hairdresser. As well as hairdressing I enjoy and love writing articles. Maybe one day I could write for a big newspaper company such as The Sun, News of the World, The Daily Mirror etc.
For work experience I worked at Beyond The Fringe, before they started changing the name of the salon. Both of the salon owners were really proud of my attitude to work. During my work experience I had to write an article for a competition that my English class were entering for the News Shopper. I had to write about my experience of work and what was expected of me during my work experience. Whoever won the competition had lunch with someone from the News Shopper. However, I entered my article into the News Shopper but I didn't win. Instead my article was published on the News Shopper website where other people could read it. Also I received a certificate from the News Shopper for entering my article.
My biggest ambition in life is to have my own business whether it is a hairdressing salon or a newspaper or magazine company. If I had the opportunity I would combine the two jobs and qualifications into one business.
Not only do I enjoy and love writing I also love to draw. I used to draw in my spare time but now due to being busy with work and college I don't get much time to draw. One of my skills is that I am very creative and enjoy making things.
